Welcome to Kimmy’s Southern Bites, y’all! I am a Southern, girl, born and raised in Weatherford, Texas and ended up in Houston. Growing up I watched my sweet Grandmother Phillips, Grandmother Stevens, Great-Grandmother George, and my Mama  make meals and treats. They were my mentors, and women I looked up to with great respect and love. I learned something different with each one of them, and I use all that I’ve learned in my kitchen and now teach my children.  Although my Great Grandmother, and both Grandmothers are in heaven now, I still make their dishes and every bite takes me back to their country kitchens.

I am a devoted wife, and a mother to five children whom three of them I home school. My life is crazy busy, so I am always experimenting with recipes for taste, nutrition, and cost to feed my family and fill their tummies on a budget. At our table we talk, we laugh, we cut up, we work problems out and everyone always gets second helpings. I take many meal request from my crew and plan them into my meal menu for the week. My husband and children are my taste testers. If a recipe does not get approved I either improve it or toss it.  Every recipe, money saving tip, household tip, or coupon tip that I put on this page are tried and true. I will never steer you wrong.  All my recipes are Kid Tasted & Kid Approved, some may be even Kid Invented. Enjoy all the recipes, and everything I have to offer.
